About the Band

The Castle Hill RSL North West Wind Ensemble was established in 2003 to provide musicians with the opportunity to play an advanced repertoire of modern concert band music.

The band consists of around 50 amateur and professional musicians from around Sydney. The band has has stunning success at State and National Championships and is building a wide repertoire. The band has an Open A competition grading.

We are closely associated with the Castle Hill RSL Youth Band, originally being formed by ex-members.

New Members

We are always interested in committed new players. If you are a reasonably adept player and wanting to come along, please email enquiries@nwwe.org for more information.

Events

The band plays in a wide variety of events. Both state and national competitions provide a focal points for the band to rehearse for during the year.

NWWE also performs a regular concert series to expand our repertoire and provide opportunities for the public to enjoy our music.

A major event every year is the Sydney Anzac Day parade, where we join forces and march with the Castle Hill RSL Youth Band.

The band also does occasional corporate engagements and other functions.

Marching Band for Hire

Do you need a marching band based in the Sydney Greater Metropolitan Area for your next community event?

NWWE are available to hire in any number of configurations. Each year we enjoy playing for the troops in the Anzac Day parade, and Santa was very happy to have a smaller selection of NWWE players provide festivities for his grand entrance to a number of Sydney shopping centres last year!

We come on time, prepared with appropriate music, musicians and tidily turned out blue and white uniform with signature white Akubra hats. Our rates are reasonable and funds go to the ongoing running costs of the band.
